The early beginnings of the CSCST System go back to 1911 when the Cebu Trade School was established as one of the earliest vocational school of the country. Founded by the Americans as the Manual Arts Department of Cebu Normal School (now Cebu Normal University), its main purpose was to develop technical skills and promote love of work. When Cebu Normal School phased out its secondary curriculum, Cebu Trade School became an affiliate of the Cebu Provincial High School located along Jones Avenue. Though Proclamation No. 180 on August 20, 1928 it became a separate entity, and acquired its present site at corner Mariano Jesus Cuenco Avenue (formerly Los Martires) and R. Palma Street. The school produced its first graduates in 1912.
CSCST System is composed of nine campuses which include CSCST-MAIN CAMPUS, CSCST – COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE in Lahug, CSCST – COLLEGE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY in Sabang Danao, CSCST-POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE in Tuburan, CSCST – COLLEGE OF FISHERIES in Moalboal, CSCSCT – AGRO-INDUSTRIAL AND FORESTRY COLLEGE in Argao, CSCST – COLLEGE OF FISHERY TECHNOLOGY in Carmen, CSCST – COLLEGE OF FISHERIES in Daanbantayan and our very own CSCST – FISHERY AND INDUSTRIAL COLLEGE in the wonderful island of San Francisco Camotes Cebu.
